Get to Know the AgreenaCarbon Soil Carbon Project
📅 Wednesday, April 8, 2026 | ⏰ 10:00–11:00 AM CDT | 🎟 Free Virtual Event
Join us online from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM CDT to explore how the AgreenaCarbon project is proving that soil carbon can deliver measurable, verifiable results at an industrial scale.
Meet The Speakers
Alan Byrne
Sales Manager, Broker Distribution
AIan Byrne leads Broker Distribution at Agreena, working closely with partners and market participants to expand access to high integrity soil carbon solutions. In this session, Ian will provide an in depth overview of the AgreenaCarbon project, including how baselines are established, how additionality is demonstrated, and how long term permanence is addressed. Drawing on his experience in carbon markets and project distribution, AIan will break down the technical foundations that ensure credibility, transparency, and alignment with leading standards such as the Verra Verified Carbon Standard.
Thomas Gent
Farmer and Regenerative Agriculture Lead
Thomas Gent is both a practicing farmer and a regenerative agriculture leader, bringing practical, on the ground expertise to the climate conversation. In this session, Thomas will introduce core regenerative agriculture practices and explain how they improve soil health, enhance biodiversity, and reduce carbon emissions. Through real world examples from the field, he will share how regenerative practices translate into measurable climate impact, offering attendees a tangible understanding of how farming and climate solutions come together in practice.
Webinar Topics
Exploring the Impact of Soil Carbon
Soil carbon has moved from a promising concept to one of the most immediate and scalable levers for global climate action. As Europe’s first large-scale Verra-verified regenerative agriculture project, the AgreenaCarbon project is proving that soil carbon can deliver measurable, verifiable results at an industrial scale. Spanning over 1.6 million hectares across 10 European countries, this initiative is transforming the agricultural landscape by helping thousands of farmers bridge the financial gap inherent in the transition to regenerative practices.
In this webinar, we will take a deep dive into the mechanics of high-integrity soil carbon removal. We’ll explore how the AgreenaCarbon project utilizes Verra’s VM0042 methodology to turn activities like reduced tillage, cover cropping, and organic fertilisation into robust, permanent climate contributions. We’ll address the critical “how” and “why” behind the project: from establishing rigorous baselines and ensuring additionality to how carbon credit finance directly supports farmers in overcoming initial costs like machinery investments and temporary yield shifts.
What We’ll Cover:
- An overview of the AgreenaCarbon project, its registry status, and its footprint across Europe.
- How carbon finance enables a shift away from “business-as-usual” intensive farming toward regenerative models.
- Exploring the co-benefits of the project, including restored soil health, improved water quality, and enhanced biodiversity.
- How we ensure that the 1 million+ tonnes of carbon removed annually are real, measurable, and long-lasting.
- A look at how funds flow back to the land to support the transition and ensure project longevity.
