About This Project

  • The project activity replaces anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases estimated to be approximately 603,168 tCO2e per year by displacing 643,860 MWh/year amount of electricity from the generation mix of power plants connected to the Indian Grid, which is mainly dominated by thermal/ fossil fuel-based power plant.
  • The project activity consists of 143 WTGs (2.1 MW capacity each), making the total installed capacity to be 300 MW1 in the district of Kutch in the State of Gujarat, India.
  • Carbon credit sales provide incremental funding necessary to successfully construct and operate the wind farm.

Sustainability Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, are a set of 17 interconnected goals established by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all by 2030. The SDGs build upon the earlier Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) but are broader in scope, encompassing a wide range of economic, social, and environmental issues. They provide a comprehensive framework for addressing global challenges and achieving a more sustainable and equitable world. This project has the following sustainability development goals that are displayed.
