About This Project
- Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary is on the front lines of deforestation, with nearby unprotected areas severely affected. It encompasses 20 villages and supports 13,000 local community members.
- The sanctuary is home to critically endangered species, such as the black-shanked douc and the iconic Asian elephant and serves as both the ancestral and present-day home of the Indigenous Bunong people.
- The Keo Seima Wildlife Sanctuary REDD+ Project protects forest ecosystems by preventing deforestation and degradation, enhancing carbon storage and biodiversity conservation.
- REDD+ is a market-based mechanism that rewards forest conservation and wildlife protection by compensating for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions achieved through conservation efforts.

Sustainability Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, are a set of 17 interconnected goals established by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all by 2030. The SDGs build upon the earlier Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) but are broader in scope, encompassing a wide range of economic, social, and environmental issues. They provide a comprehensive framework for addressing global challenges and achieving a more sustainable and equitable world. This project has the following sustainability development goals that are displayed.
