About This Project
- This project reduces greenhouse gas emissions by preventing the release of used HFCs into the atmosphere where they are significantly more damaging to the environment than an equal amount of CO2.
- HFCs are the most commonly used refrigerants. Unfortunately, all refrigeration equipment leaks over time, and all HFCs used in them will eventually reach the atmosphere.
- The project recovers, reclaims and repurposes used HFCs from refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. The reuse of reclaimed HFCs eliminates the need to produce new HFCs and results in a net reduction of HFC emissions.
- Carbon credit sales provide the funding necessary to cover the additional costs to recover, transport, and separate/process refrigerants to virgin purity levels for reuse.
Sustainability Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, are a set of 17 interconnected goals established by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all by 2030. The SDGs build upon the earlier Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) but are broader in scope, encompassing a wide range of economic, social, and environmental issues. They provide a comprehensive framework for addressing global challenges and achieving a more sustainable and equitable world. This project has the following sustainability development goals that are displayed.
